Fit Simplify vs THERABAND: Short Loops or Longer Non-Latex Bands?

These two inexpensive band sets are often grouped together, but they are not substitutes for every movement. Fit Simplify supplies ready-made mini loops; this THERABAND kit supplies longer open bands. Pick the format your planned routine requires before comparing the number of colors in the box.

HOW WE COMPARED

Research comparison based on the cited manufacturer and retailer listings. Shopfest has not independently tested these products. Pros and cons describe listed features and editorial judgments about fit, format and use. Prices are retailer snapshots excluding tax and shipping. Hidden, subscription-only or ambiguous prices are not treated as ordinary purchase prices.

Our editorial standard →
Begin with the exercise setup, not the number of bands

A short closed loop is convenient when a movement explicitly calls for a band around the legs or hands. A longer open band gives you ends to hold and more length to position. Those are different tools, not merely different quality levels. Before buying either, look at the instructions for the routine you intend to follow. If it shows handles, a door attachment or a long pull-up loop, do not assume either of these sets includes the missing equipment.

Material is an actual buying distinction

Fit Simplify identifies its loops as natural latex, while the selected THERABAND beginner kit is explicitly non-latex. That distinction should remain visible in a comparison, rather than disappearing beneath generic claims about softness. If your household or training environment avoids latex, buy the specifically labeled non-latex product instead of relying on a photograph or a similar product name. Non-latex is a material description, not a guarantee that every user will find the band comfortable against their skin.

Fit is about working length as well as tension

The mini loops are listed at 12 by 2 inches; the THERABAND strips are listed at five feet by four inches. Think about where the material needs to sit and how much movement you need before tension begins. Neither extra width nor extra length is inherently better. A band that suits a short-range routine may be inconvenient for a longer movement. We have not measured force curves or compared these bands in a workout, so we would not call one universally stronger.

Read resistance labels within each system

Fit Simplify provides five levels and THERABAND supplies three beginner colors here. More levels may offer more choices within that particular kit, but colors and words such as heavy are not a shared measurement standard across brands. Start from the band recommended for your chosen movement and follow the supplied instructions. Examine bands before each use and replace damaged material. Neither purchase should be framed as treatment for an injury or as a promise of a particular fitness result.

What you pay and what you still need

The checked Amazon prices were $9.98 for the purple Fit Simplify set and $11.99 for this THERABAND kit. The $2.01 difference is smaller than the cost of buying the wrong format twice. Fit Simplify’s included pouch is useful for keeping the loops together; the THERABAND strips will need a place where they can be stored without being caught on sharp objects. Choose loops for a routine built around mini loops, or the non-latex strips when that material and longer open format are the requirement.

Three open, non-latex bands; beginner colors; not pre-closed loops

Longer open-band movements and buyers specifically avoiding natural latex

THE SHOPFEST DECISION

What we would choose—and why.

Buy Fit Simplify when you specifically want short, ready-made latex loops. Buy the THERABAND non-latex beginner kit when longer open bands or a latex-free specification matter. The format difference outweighs the small checked price gap.
