A new Rack on Rockville Pike.

Nordstrom Rack lists the Congressional Plaza location at 1683 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852, with an October 29 opening date. Congressional Plaza’s event listing separates the October 27 pre-opening shopping party from the October 29 grand opening. The reel captures an opening-period visit; it is not a live inventory tour.

That distinction matters if a particular piece catches your eye. A product appearing in a video does not establish its name, price, size range, or availability today. Use the reel for a feel for the visit, and check the exact item in store before making the trip for it.

Go in with a short list.

For an off-price browse, we would start with a few specific gaps: a layer for colder mornings, shoes that work with an existing outfit, or the next size a child actually needs. A focused list makes it easier to spot a useful find without letting every tempting rack become a new project.

Try the piece on where possible. Check seams, zippers, fabric care, and the fit while moving. With children’s shoes, leave time to check both feet and walk around; a familiar size on a box is only a starting point. Before paying, read the exact item’s return terms, including any final-sale restriction.

Our wardrobe rule applies here too: picture the item with things already at home. If you need several more purchases to make it work, the first price tag may not tell the whole story.

Shopping with children? Keep the visit simple.

Choose one priority category first, keep a note of the sizes you need, and leave room to stop when the browse stops being fun. The aim is a useful trip, not a full-store challenge. For holiday planning, separating practical wardrobe needs from gifts can also keep your list and budget clearer.
