01Start with the map
Choose The Newbury when your plans center on the Public Garden and Newbury Street. Consider The Atlas when Harvard Business School, the Enterprise Research Campus or Harvard Stadium drives the itinerary. Shopfest’s recommendation is about reducing detours, not ranking one hotel universally above the other.
02Plan the family room before the itinerary
Newbury connecting rooms are requests and cannot be guaranteed. Atlas lists connecting and shared-vestibule lock-off pairs, but has no rollaway beds. A family of five should obtain written confirmation of occupancy and configuration rather than assume a standard double room solves the whole stay.
03Compare the final total
Both hotels publish additional nightly fees. Request the full quote including taxes, fee, parking and any breakfast or extra-bed charge. Newbury has no on-site pool and Atlas says it currently has no spa, so choose a different property if that amenity is central to your trip.
