The choices, close up.
Official specifications checked November 1, 2026. Room photographs illustrate particular categories, not every room or a guaranteed view.

Gardiner, Hudson Valley, New York
Wildflower Farms, Auberge Collection
- Freestanding cabins, cottages and suites on a rural property in Gardiner.
- Official cabin guide lists king beds; selected cottages permit rollaway beds.
- Two-Bedroom Connecting Meadow Cottage is listed for up to six guests.
Before choosing. Room choice matters for a family: a standard Bower Cabin sleeps two, while the connecting two-bedroom cottage is listed for six. Outdoor pool and some recreation are seasonal; not a fully programmed children’s resort.

Rosendale, Hudson Valley, New York
The Six Bells Countryside Inn
- 435 Main Street in Rosendale beside Rondout Creek.
- Historic three-story building with eleven individually decorated rooms, a tavern, riverside restaurant and shop.
- The rooms page lists two-bedroom family suites, including Scrubbett’s Ledge.
Before choosing. This is a small inn, not a large activity resort. Confirm the exact family-suite layout, occupancy and accessibility before booking; do not infer an elevator or children’s program.

AutoCamp
- Brand offers distinct locations including Catskills, Cape Cod, Joshua Tree, Yosemite and Zion; facilities differ by location.
- AutoCamp Catskills has Airstream and cabin categories.
- Catskills Premium Family Cabin is listed for up to six guests, with guidance of five adults or two adults and four young children.
Before choosing. Airstream is not shorthand for space for a family of five. Match the specific category’s occupancy, bathroom arrangement and seasonal conditions. A nightly amenity fee applies at Catskills.

The details that
change the decision.
01Choose a stay format before a room photo
Wildflower Farms lists freestanding cabins and cottages in Gardiner. The Six Bells is an eleven-room inn in Rosendale, with a tavern, restaurant and shop. AutoCamp Catskills offers Airstream and cabin categories. These are different accommodation formats, not three versions of a conventional full-service hotel.
02A family of five needs a named category
Wildflower lists a two-bedroom connecting cottage for up to six. The Six Bells identifies two-bedroom family suites. AutoCamp Catskills has a Premium Family Cabin with its own capacity and age guidance. Obtain the exact bed plan and written occupancy confirmation. Do not transfer one category’s capacity to another just because both are called cabins.
03Allow room for the weather
Our suggested weekend includes one outing, one reserved dinner and a substantial stretch at the accommodation. Outdoor recreation, pool schedules and road conditions are seasonal. Ask about heating, parking access, stairs and the distance from your room to shared facilities before you commit, especially when children or mobility needs shape the trip.
ROOM TO BREATHE
Our suggested
weekend rhythm.
An editorial sequence, not a timed itinerary, included package or claim of a personal stay.
- 01
Arrive with groceries or a dinner reservation already arranged.
- 02
Make one outdoor or village outing the next day.
- 03
Keep breakfast and departure unhurried.
PACK WITH A PURPOSE
Let the clothes
follow the plan.
Bring layers for variable weather, shoes you can walk in and a separate set for dinner. An outdoor-looking stay still needs a check of the actual accommodation and activity conditions.
