01Treat the ferry as part of the itinerary
Shelter Island requires a water crossing for a conventional road trip. The Pridwin’s FAQ describes North and South Ferry arrangements, but operator schedules and payment rules should be checked again before departure. Leave room for a transfer rather than building the first afternoon around a tightly timed reservation.
02Main hotel and cottage access differ
The hotel lists an elevator in the main building, while second floors in cottages are reached by stairs. A cottage label is not a guarantee of step-free access or separate bedrooms for every guest. Request the exact floor plan and bedroom locations if children, luggage or mobility needs change what is practical.
03The waterfront deserves a precise description
The property lists an outdoor pool, spa and recreation including tennis and paddling. Its small beach is affected by the tide. Plan optional water activities around operating conditions, reserve treatments separately and use the pool image as inspiration rather than proof of access on a specific day.
