THE SHOPFEST TAKE
The choice worth making.
Keep each day geographically coherent. Spend one day north of the river, one around Dosan and Apgujeong, and one in Seongsu; swap the order for weather, closures and reservations.
First-time visitors who want food and shopping without constant transfers
Travelers who prefer a timed guided tour with included transport
Day one: Anguk and the historic core
Start with the north-of-river day when your energy and actual service times allow it. Choose one substantial meal and a tea-house pause, then leave the historic neighborhood as time to enjoy rather than a checklist to finish. Muguok and Osulloc Bukchon can supply the food-and-tea structure, subject to current hours and availability. Observe the visiting restrictions for designated residential parts of Bukchon and keep private homes out of your photo plans. Add a palace visit only after checking the official calendar, access and ticket arrangements. This is a flexible independent sequence; it does not include admissions, a reserved table or a tested transfer time.
Day two: Apgujeong and Dosan
Let shopping drive the second day rather than forcing several districts together. DOKBAEK offers a resale stop, while the area’s design-led retail gives the afternoon a different pace from a department-store circuit. Save the current address and basement details where relevant. If dinner at Dosan Hoikwan is important, verify its service day and booking process first, then arrange the shopping around it. Do not assume a venue opens every day because the neighborhood is lively. Hotel choice can make this day easier: an Apgujeong base differs from Teheran-ro or Jamsil. Use the hotel comparison to understand those tradeoffs instead of assuming all south-of-river addresses are equally close.

Day three: Seongsu, with one optional discovery
Choose established Seongsu anchors and leave one uncommitted slot. A beauty space, a fashion stop and a café pause are enough to give the day variety. A currently announced pop-up may be added if its actual dates and entry arrangements work; the October SKYLRK activation has finished. Move an indoor-heavy day earlier if the forecast is poor, or switch days when a museum or store is closed. Keep a final buffer for returning to the hotel, collecting luggage and your onward journey. The best version of this itinerary may have fewer stops than your saved folder. Our related guides provide the deeper decisions so this page can remain an overview rather than repeating every venue description.

PACK WITH A PURPOSE
The outfit should
make the day easier.
Use a small repeatable capsule rather than three unrelated outfits: familiar shoes, layers that suit the forecast and a bag that stays manageable after shopping. Autumn and winter are different packing tasks. The linked fashion pieces illustrate options; no shoe is guaranteed comfortable for everyone or suitable for icy streets.
