Location buys time as well as a room
A luxury hotel is not automatically a convenient base for every Seoul itinerary. Four Seasons sits in the Gwanghwamun area, useful for a trip that repeatedly returns to Jongno and palace sights. Andaz’s Apgujeong location serves a different rhythm of south-of-river shopping and dining. Park Hyatt is a Samseong and COEX decision. SIGNIEL is a Jamsil stay with a particular relationship to Lotte World Tower, rather than a substitute address in central Jongno. Josun Palace belongs to the Teheran-ro side of Gangnam, while The Shilla offers a destination-hotel setting near Namsan. Our comparisons are editorial inferences from verified locations and facilities, not personal stay reviews. Choose the neighborhood you will use on several days, then compare the room.
Josun Palace: read the winter notice first
The official Marriott overview lists facility renovations from December 1, 2026 to mid-May 2027 and warns of intermittent noise during intensive work. It describes a temporary fitness center on the 30th floor from December 1 through January 2027, with the indoor pool and sauna expected to operate normally. Plans can change, so ask the hotel what applies to your exact dates, room and rate before booking. This is a material tradeoff for a stay built around quiet daytime relaxation. A lower advertised rate does not resolve it unless the actual conditions suit you. The official page also says the hotel does not provide an airport shuttle; arrange transport on its own merits rather than assuming it is included in a luxury stay.
Compare the total you will actually pay
We have not obtained like-for-like live quotes for a fixed party and set of dates, so there is no invented starting price or cheapest-hotel ranking. Open each official page with the same arrival, departure, occupancy and room requirements. Compare taxes, breakfast, additional-person charges where relevant, pool or other facility access, prepayment and cancellation deadline. A skyline or palace view may require a particular room category; do not infer that every room shares the marketing photograph. If you are choosing a nonrefundable offer, check the arrival date and local cancellation deadline carefully. The strongest option is the one whose location, room and terms fit the trip, rather than the one with the most dramatic lobby image.
